Official statement on the passing of Camron "Spiro" Bates:
As a wrestling promoter, you never expect to have to blog about something like this. Our business is based on the suspension of disbelief & quite frankly, none of us want to believe this. It’s all too real. We at Anarchy Championship Wrestling would like to offer condolences to the family, friends and fans of Camron “Spiro” Bates. He was with ACW off and on from day one. The entire roster will tell you; he was a great guy, a gentle soul & a helping hand. What many don’t know is Camron had a hand in training a large portion of the ACW roster. Camron’s contributions to the professional wrestling business will live on far into the future. Thank you. You’re already missed.

- Darin Childs

Spiro in the words of his fellow Anarchists:

“One Man” Mike Dell
Camron Bates (Spiro) has passed away. I will miss him dearly. We talked at least 2-3 times a week and always got together for road trips for wrestling. We tried out for TNA together. I can't believe this has happened. I will miss him so much. Please have him in your hearts.
I also want to say that Spiro was not just a fellow wrestler to me, but a great friend. One of my best! I miss him so much already. He was one of the best wrestlers in this state and 1 of my best friends!! I love you man. Please be at peace now...

Angel Blue
Wow such a sad day in indy wrestling today as we lost one of our wrestlers. RIP Spiro aka Camron Bates. You were a great guy and I was honored to get to meet you. You will truly be missed...

Matthew Palmer
Camron Bates/Spiro always tried to help me whenever he could. He was a kind man and I will always remember him as one. R.I.P. Spiro. Spiro always took me aside after every one of my matches to help me. He'd show me how to properly move about the ring and to hit harder. Sometimes we'd never mesh well in the ring, but it never stopped me from wanting to learn more from him. He was kind and polite. That's how I'll always remember him.

Killah Kash
I can't believe this R.I.P SPIRO The guy was the epitome of professional.
He was a part of Booker T's PWA in the early years. And ACW and many other companies. He has been all over the world and been seen on WWE TV. On a personal note he was a man that I had a lot of respect for. I watched him not just as a wrestler but also as a fan

Scot Summers
RIP~CAMRON BATES AKA *SPIRO~YOU WERE A TRUE GENTLEMAN & ONE HELL OF A PRO WRESTLER. YOU WILL BE MISSED. . .

Evan Gelistico
Lost an Anarchist today, goodbye Camron you were a great guy & I loved our random discussions. My prayers go out to your friends and family

Darin Childs
Terribly saddened by the passing of a friend. What is there to say? I wish I could have done more. I hope you're finally at peace. Much Love

Slim Sexy
Woke up this morning hoping it was a bad dream, but still reading about the passing of Spiro. To me this is really the sad day in Pro Wrestling. All the other loses are sad too but I’m guessing because it closer to home and because I called him my friend. Spiro, I will always remember the advice, the work ethics, the true professional in this crazy ass business! Rest in Peace My Friend and My brother.

JC Bravo
Spiro , glad to have known you as a fan and as a peer and will keep with me what u trained me forever , RIP brother, very sadden by news

Chingo del Santo
Just heard the sad news about Camron Bates aka Spiro. One of the very few who trained me about this business we love so much. No words can say what I feel right now. One of the best wrestlers and trainers that I ever knew. His passion for this business was beyond others. R.I.P. Spiro We will miss you dearly.

Draven
RIP Camron Bates aka Spiro, thank you so much for giving me advice in the ring in ways I could improve myself, you will be missed, and never forgotten. One thing I knew and learned about Spiro, he lived for this life, undoubtedly one of the best in Texas. He proved height didn't mean as much as everyone thinks in this business. His power and speed and technicality is what he used to over throw the competition, I'll never forget the talks and advice you gave me in and out of the ring, you will forever be in our hearts

Highroller Hayze
RIP Camron Bates better known as Spiro to us in the wrestling world. You will missed by all of us.

Pierre Abernathy
RIP to Spiro. Prayers to his family and friends in this horrible time.

Miss Maulie
The news about the loss of a personal friend & teacher is heartbreaking. I hope that there will be memorial services for Camron Bates in Texas. He will certainly not be forgotten here.

Sky de Lacrimosa
At a loss for words... I really don't know what to say..

Jr Garza Lunar Eclipse
To Camron Bates you were a great friend and taught me so much about the craft you love so much. God bless you and watch over us

JT LaMotta
Spiro you will be missed and I think you'd be surprised how many people are shouting out. I don't think I could think of one bad thing to say about the guy. Always was excited and wanted to do more than usual whenever we were paired up...rest peacefully.

Lillie Mae
I remember being scared of Spiro. Then one time before a show he wanted to chain with me. Without hesitation I jumped in the ring. I learned more in two hours with him than I had in the 6 months prior. I loved Spiro. God give him peace!

Franco D'Angelo
So yeah what I saw earlier was true...Spiro thanks for being u and being great bro! Time to TAKEOVER HEAVEN RIP brother!

Ricky Romida
After hearing the news today, I had a loss of words. I truly didn't want to believe it happened. Today everyone lost a great trainer, a great mentor, and a great friend. I looked up to Spiro. He was someone who had great mind for wrestling. I will always remember the workouts in Lytle, and the knowledge I gained from him. He is one of the few people that have helped me to improve and evolve in my wrestling career. Thank you for everything, and Good journey my friend.

Spiro was a phenomenal wrestler in every aspect. He had the look, the talent. Great ring psychology. I will never forget him as my best friend and one of the best wrestlers ever.
